E85 is popular in Miami- Jorge @ All American Cycles tunes with it a lot, typically adds up to 5 HP over conventional E10. They use bigger injectors w/stock fuel pump & lines on small engines. IDK what fuel delivery they use for big engines.

General / E85 for High Performance Use
Last post by Ohio HD - Yesterday at 06:30:59 PM
I'm considering running E85 in the 124" hot rod that I've been working on. This bike won't be a main daily rider, so I'm thinking of maybe going E85 to get some additional power. But I have some questions as I've not been around E85 use. So I'm hoping that some of our members can speak about what going to E85 entails for a Harley Davidson.

Some questions:
(1) What about sizing fuel injectors?
(2) Is there a need for higher than OEM fuel pressure?
(3) Full the OEM fuel pump, pressure regulator, fuel filter, fuel lines, o-rings, etc. hold up with E85?
(4) Does the ION sensing still work as designed with E85, I assume yes?
(5) Naturally aspired, what percentage of power increase is reasonable?
(6) HPI throttle body, is it compatible with E85?

I think these basic questions may help me decide on using E85. And of course anything that I should know is also appreciated.

General / E85 and Motor Oil
Last post by Ohio HD - Yesterday at 06:07:43 PM
I read this article about using E85 in performance applications, and they're recommending to run a little high viscosity due to oil dilution at a higher rate when running E85. In general E85 runs at an AFR of 9.8 vs. gasoline at 14.7 AFR. Performance applications will be richer in either E85 or gasoline in parts of the MAP.

I'm trying to educate myself on E85 usage. It makes complete sense as far as running a slightly higher viscosity, but it's something that didn't enter my mind until I read this.

Correct, only race available anywhere for a stock 07 transmisson is thru Harley. Called the dealer to check stock said they had 4 and they always keep them in stock. Design flaw that they corrected by putting a shoulder on the shaft.

I have replaced the one in my 06 dyna a couple of times due to transmission removal/problems. Have just used the factory race. Both times the race to shaft has had approx.001 interference, Warmed the race to 250 slid on with the tool to set position left to cool off. I use a quartz lamp to warm the race. No problem with movement. My auto tensioner has been set and welded for years now, had to split the tacs and re adjust it last year. Tac weld the 4 corners again. Not a fan of gluing brgs they get fitted and applied with heat or cold not forced or glued.  Bob

S&S only lists the 560-0241 six speed race for 2008 and up. I think it's due to the changes that HD made in the 2007 main shafts in mid year production.

Just order an S&S race and be done with it. Do a search on here for it and you'll see how it solves your problem forever.
