88-98. Currently stock (thunderheader and S&S teardrop intake) garage baby with 11k logged. Heads will be done to accept less or equal to .600 cam. Wants to run between 10.5-11:1 range. Mainly looking for gear drive cam selections. He's keeping thunderheader.

I was thinking CR595 but haven't herd anything about how they're working in the smaller cube  bikes. Some tried and true (mid to right RPM)  dyna cam options for a 98" in this compression range would be appreciated.

I run the Woods 9B (.630) in my 98" and have no problems with that much cam in a 98"
Runs great.Mine is at 11.4/1 static,10.4 corrected. Also has good in town manners.

This is at 11.2 on a fuel injected bike. How would this do on a carbed bike? What carb would be recommended?

Looks great though! I now see why (when you thought I lived in Texas) you recommended this tuner.

Compression on the 98" I mentioned signed off at 200 psi ccp.
Tuned by one of the best tuners in New England, certainly the best by far, in Massachusetts.

585 S&S or t man 590

Would a new carb and/or ignition be needed?

Definitely a new ignition for tuning, and a bigger carb to utilize the bigger motor. The carb might not be necessary, but you will leave top end horsepower on the table without one. You're paying for a bigger motor and more fuel/air with the cam, might as well take advantage of it.
