Fun With Tensioners

Had mine blow. Cost me a fair penny. The little plastic chunk got lodged in front of the tappet wheel and caused the tappet to skate on The cam rather than turn. Wore a flat spot on the tappet and cam, not sure why as there are a few possibilities, but the inner cam bearing on that cam went next, then of course the pump and the right side case.

It was expensive and since I have done a few dozen of the SE hybrid kits (love them) I kick myself that I never opened my bike up to check...was told it was done at the dealer I bought it from (back a bunch of years, no recourse now and was as much my fault for neglecting the bike)


I believe In doing it all when open, including the inner bearing.
