Mystery nut?

I have a big box of assorted takeoff bolts and nuts from all of the Harleys I have owned.

Today I needed three of these nuts but I only had two. (I used them to secure a laydown license plate which was not their original purpose.)

They are threaded 1/4 inch coarse. (20TPI I think.)

Does anyone know what this goes to so I can buy some more?

If it helps, all of my bikes have been 2016 or newer.

Thanks!

Harley part # should be 7716.

My local Ace hardware has a large selection of specialty nuts and bolts, I'm sure they have something very close if I needed.
McMaster Carr probably carries those as well.

It's called a flange nut should be very easy to find in a hardware aisle.

HD part # is 7499.  On police bikes two of them are used to hold the seat fairing to the rear fender.

Looks to be from the front lower motor mount,,,,,,,,,,,,  :idunno:
2 Bikes and 2 Beemers, that's what I have been told 😳

1/4-20 flange nut (7499) is used a couple places,  holds the cruise module in place 95-07 touring,  two piece seats on some road king models, cop application as mentioned above, etc.
Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?

Xyzzy

I knew you guys would know what it was!

Thanks!

Yup, same part is used to bolt the OEM rider-backrest socket assembly to the rear fender.

Also looks like the inner fairing to bracket nut on Road Glides.

I believe those nuts go to the U bolts that hold the top of harley lower farings.
