Any recommendations for an assembly lube? Motor going to be sitting for at least a year before start up.

I'm partial to Redline myself. Mostly for the lovely strawberry color.

Torco comes in small tubes for the home builder.

I've never let a re-build sit that long, just used motor oil. I have an ancient bottle of Lucas assembly lube with the consistency of cold glue. Is that normal? ....lovely strawberry colored lube JW? um..err...maybe im reading a bit to far into that

Mule

A lot of people use Lucas oil stabilizer , works good stays put and won't run off.

That lovely strawberry color lets you know that it's been pre-lubricated at a glance, even after a 6 month hibernation.

I don't do this stuff for a living but when I do.....

I use Lubriplate grease. Got it at NAPA

I like the white grease as well, mostly because the tube keeps it clean, and I can squeeze out little dabs instead of having to dip a finger into a pot.
