Yes, I've got early vented fairings on my 17 RG, the engine guard is the same on 09 & up. If using on a RG you might have to shorten up the extensions that are on the caps, the RG fairing mounts get in the way, I think the caps were shortened around 2011 when the RGU came out.

Thanks that's what I was wanting to know,the vent opening appears to be larger in the early models. thanks
