I had a lifter roller pin come loose and start working its way out smashing into the lifter bore. Pulled the motor and had Darkhorse re sleeve the lifter bore and weld up the damaged cases. They do excellent work. Had them blueprint the lower end while they were at it.

1000 miles on 117" cu in build. 2313SE Hylift Johnson lifters. I was given a free set of replacement lifters but doesn't help with the damage. I had a a brand new Harley B lifter let go years ago so you never know.

2 Bikes and 2 Beemers, that's what I have been told 😳

Any failure with the heavy duty lifters from Harley that come in their stage kits?

Bump, any lifter failures, with the ones supplied in any of the M8 stage kits?

Steve posted some pictures of the lifters and cam in the thread "M8 new case halves, lifters, cam and head"

I personaly haven't seen any failures with the s.e. lifters that come in the stage kits, although I have only installed a handful of stg kits on the m8's. They have larger rollers than the oem lifters. the bodys look the same though. I have had a cam bolt break on a screamin eagle stg 4 kit. Hope that gives some peace of mind.

Could it have been the lift and valve springs being too much for the lifters - or the springs bottoming out with the lift?

The heads were set up properly for the cam. Just bad luck!
