G Extreme

My winter project is G-extreme kit and new exhaust. I have S&S T124 with B2 heads FXDX -01. My question is what kind of fuel valve have you used with G-extreme or fuel pump?

A Pingel guzzler dual 5/16" will work but if you are looking for very consistent AFR we found a fuel pump and regulator was best at maintaining fuel levels in the bowl.

Absolutely.

With big power engines you can see the float bowls filling in the AFR graph on long pulls and gravity systems. Even more important when running Carbs with NOS or Alcohol.

There was a lot of talk about this type of setup by ederdelyi, and at one point, Ron Dicky from Axtell. Great reads of you can find the threads. John Sachs has a lot of experience with the g extreme manifold and both G carbs and CVs IIRC.


Get the principles down first, they'll never change.

I hope pwmorris chimes in on this as I think he is the only active member here that has run a G Extreme setup on either the street or strip with any real depth of knowledge.

Experience only with our Dual B, and Dual D's.
Gravity feed was fine, but did use an aluminum "funnel" mounted on the lower tree, just to insure, creating additional pressure at speed.

Earlier post was removed due site update.

Here is new picture. The G extreme kit is not complete because S&S dont make it anymore. Intake is from 145. So i had to "narrow"it. I´m going to build exhaust from specs that Burns stainless calculated.
Its a street bike and sometimes maybe on track. I´m from Finland. So sorry about my English.

I wanted max fuel flow to each carb under load, rather than split from a single. I have run fuel pumps for race application but no need for my street bike. Never have a fuel starvation issue.
You might also want to send your carbs to SA Racing and have him give them the full treatment.

I had already ordered Dual Guzzler. Just wanted second opinion. Can you tell what Steve does to the carbs compared to Zippers. Because i have one Zippers prepped G3 carb. And i was going to do same treatment for these Carbs.

Bladerunner on this forum also has some real world experience with the G extreme on a 124 equipped with moderately modified B2 heads.
He maintained pretty much the same torque line as a bored super D   but pulled an add'll 500 rpm out of it with the G extreme. Took some attention to detail to get there.

I would just get another G3 from Zippers. Keep the carbs the same for tuning purposes. Totally different price point and internals, as well as externals. Are you running stacks or an air filter? Also, make sure you keep heat from the motor away from the fuel lines (I run a sleeve for them between the motor) to keep that fuel nice and cool on long day rides...(or anytime for that matter).
As far as the dual G's, they are much more civil and easier and to run around town and to dial in for street use than dual D's, (I've run both on the street). Dyno session is really important for set up-fine tuning can be done by yourself over time and I have found I use bigger mains at track vs. street-but for max effort HP and track use-Dual D's rule...

Have to use air cleaner here if Finland. Roads are dirty specially on spring and early summer. I not sure what you mean about "Sleeve" between motor for fuel lines.

Several companies make it. I also run reflective tape under my tank ( I run an aluminum gas tank).
Also check out the first part of the following video showing heated fuel and resulting vapor lock-
Its a car video and they are pushing fuel pumps as a solution (I've run then for carbs as I mentioned), but the fuel changing due to heat in first couple minutes is interesting.
My point being.....keep it as cool as possible, as our tank and lines are right next to a very hot, high performance motor.

Any tips for aligning throttle axles? Seems to be pain in the a**.

Kit almost done. Throttle shaft line up was tricky. Lightest pull i got by moving cable bridge to rear carb.
