What is a good cheap tool for compressing the springs for removal on my progressive rear shocks

markymark

Looks like Progressive makes a tool for their springs.

Thanks. Should have looked there first. And it's only 36 bucks.

I just got it in the mail yesterday.  Should work fine. Thanks gentlemen!

Back in my dirt bike days I had access to a machine shop. I bored out a donut with a step to support spring seat, stuck that in the steady rest in the lathe and used the tail stock to compress the spring.
I am an adult?? When did that happen, and how do I make it stop?!

That would work. Good idea.
