I own a 2019 sportster iron 1200. I installed a new exhaust system now the rear brake is locking up and the lever is stiff.

Double check your work, do you have a long bolt or heat shield clamp hitting the mechanism somewhere? Did you force something when fitting it, possibly bending something?
If the government gives you everything you want,
it can take everything you have.

The pipes are up high so no clamps could reach. I forgot to mention that this happened when I first put the pipes on a couple days ago and all I did was readjust the linkage and it was fine. This time the brake engaged while out riding.

like Hoss said , and might want to check some more

Is the new exhaust closer to the master cylinder? Heating up the brake fluid causes it to boil and expand, applying the brakes. Does the brake release when everything is cool?
