what have any of my fellow ironheads come up with to fix the issue of the kick stand pin working it's way up into the engine case, short of welding a washer on top?

put the e-clip on the bottom?

What year ironhead? Mine is a taper fit, retained by a counter sunk 8-32 screw. Can't see how it would go up into the case.

bike is a 74, never knew the pin/kickstand were tapered??? all the stands i have the pins slip right through. i think when the stand spreads open over time the pin gets loose.

glad to see salty is alive and well!
