2013 CVO no-start after battery change...

2013 CVO Road Glide came in for a new battery with old battery still functional.  Disconnected negative and loud-as-"Potty mouth" siren started going off.  Pulled left side bag and frame cover, disconnected siren and moved to to the bench while it was still going off and removed 9-volt battery.    Put new battery in bike, put battery back in siren, replaced everything and bike just cranks, no spark confirmed by grounding plugs to fins.

The plugs have to be in the heads to allow the engine to sense compression and cause the spark.

The proper way to disable alarm is to turn bike on then turn off and pull the main fuse with 2 seconds before the alarm activates and that shuts everything down correctly.
Check to make sure you have not bent any pins on the alarm interface and the ECM if you disconnected it to get the battery out.
You may need to activate the alarm to get back to a starting point.

Seriously? The Twin Cams after 2002?, (when they stopped using a cam position sensor) The ECM looked for the engine slowing down while cranking to decide when to fire the sparkplug.

No sparkplugs and the engine doesn't slow down while cranking and the ECM gives up and doesn't do much.
I am an adult?? When did that happen, and how do I make it stop?!

Actually it was 2001 for all bikes except EFI MM Touring bikes for 2001 they went the following year 2002 when they got Delphi EFI
No compression = no spark
