Got a question about an entire clutch pack swap out. Will a 1998 Evo clutch pack swap out in entirety with a 1994 Evo? What would be wanted is to put the 1998 clutch on the 1994 bike.

I don't have either here, just trying to answer for a friend. I looked up the clutch hub for both, different part numbers, the steel clutch plates are different part numbers, but that's probably why the hub is different? .

The primary chain the same, so the gearing should work, compensating sprockets different, but only by one tooth.

Anyone know if the 1998 clutch pack will work on the 1994 bike?

Added: By the way, I mean everything from the transmission shaft out when I say clutch pack.

I don't see why not, they use the same mainshaft, P/N 35042-91

What model?

It's a Heritage Softail, 1994. I just got of the phone with him, he says it looks all the same, only thicker. I looked up the outer primary cover, it's a different number for 95 up to 98.

I didn't know he had it in the garage, I told him put it on the shaft, snug the nut, add the guts, pace the primary cover on, and spin the clutch through the derby opening to check for clearance.

The 1998 clutch assy fits and works fantastic on my buddy CW's 1994 Heritage. Really close to the outer primary, but it clears. He relieved the boss for the three derby cover screws to be safe.

But it works fantastic!   :teeth:

Also works on 94 - up bagger.

You guys had me going for a minute there. i thought you were talking about putting the clutch pack (steel and friction plates) along with the hub inside the earlier clutch basket. Looks like you're talking about swapping the entire clutch assembly. Doesn't the inner primary need to be changed also since the two jackshafts use a totaly different size bushing.
