Error when saving edited cal.
« on: March 28, 2018, 04:04:08 PM »
Any of you tuners get this error when you try to save a heavily edited map?  Drives me crazy. When this happens, I can't save all the VE changes I've made to a new map & must close the program.  When I reopen Mastertune, I can only get the newest map & copy & paste the edited VE tables (because I've copied them to my MY Tune program because I know this shit keeps happening). Then, I am able to save the new map.
If I'm the only one getting this, I'll buy a new laptop, but I don't want to if others have this problem.
Thanks
Ken

Any specific base cal, or is it random?  I just picked a random TC cal, maxed front VE and minimised rear ve, then saved without issue.

It can happen on any bike, any cal. Seems the more time I spend on editing, the more I can count on it happening. Never happens with SEPST, PV, or SERT.

Yes, Robin, he didn't know what could cause it either. Guess it's time for a new laptop.  This one (HP Pavilion dv6)  is about 5yrs old and has done it since new.

My new one will be completed today . Last one lasted 3 years .. Going to go a bit overboard on this one to see if I can not have to upgrade so fast..  Two Ethernet ports due to win 8 using one and internet on the other . I did not want to use adapter..  Opted for new higher def monitors in 27 inch that I plane to hang from the ceiling of the dyno booth. I had a larger 60 inch screen but it failed and cost wise too much  . Seems its always some sort of upgrade to keep going.. Ken dont you like it when they think tuning is a huge money maker HA HA

That will be bad ass, what mother board and video cards? The liquid cooling is awesome in a machine that will be working steady, went to that 4 years ago building gamer computers for the kid and grandson they have been flawless. Heat kills computers. That's a nice big SSD it will really speed things up and keep the heat down. I am sure you will love the new found computing speed and power.  Bob

the Video card is a ASUS

Mother board is a MSI   Now before you ask me more that is all I know HA HA Its specs I never got into the building of computers . But I can say I was setting it up and HOLY smokes is it fast.. I had to down load all the TTS software. It does the down load . then it was as fast as you could click buttons .. I was stunned . It screams well at least compared to my old dual core . It has a over clocked something or another .. as well ??

But it does have a very cool see through panel n the case you can see all kinds of lights and things   :hyst: :hyst: :hyst:  As Bill the owner of this place is showing me this he smiled as he has been on site before and knows What its used for but that was the case it needed .. I will see if i can post up a pic later its pretty for sure .

I have also had this issue, I believe it is trying to save as a weird file type and it then tries to pull from another folder.

Tuned one TTS this spring and had that same message at first, then no issues.  Updated before I started

Joe & BVHOG, I'm glad to see it's not just me, although it might happen to me more than anyone else. So, three of us here so far. Must be more outside of this forum. I've been dealing with this a long time & have complained to Steve Cole. Maybe program instability they're not interested in fixing if it's not widespread.

No other high-use programs open . Possibly email.

I also do run into issues with communicating with the power Vision unit itself while datamaster is still open.
