what year?
« on: November 19, 2017, 09:03:38 AM »
hi all, a acquaintance showed me this pix.
its of his grandmom.
she later became a pilot.
hella gal.
he would like to know what year this bike is.
wants to find one and restore it to look like this one.

I thinking derby cover or tank badge might be a give away.
thanks all, gary.

Gary I’m no expert!
But from what I can see, tank badges, fender trim, saddlebags, (and the lack of other details), I’ve narrowed it down to what I believe is a ‘41 or ‘42.  Because of the war, not as many civilian bikes were made.  Can’t really tell the size of the front brake shackle, but it looks relatively the same thickness as the front fender strut, saddlebags don’t have the jewels either...and from there I would call it a ‘41.  I hope this helps!
I bet when Eric (The Expert!)sees your post he’ll comment.
Every day, I'm one day closer...  WTF!  I'm not near 70 yrs. old!

You might try putting this in "General" section, more eyes on that section, I think.

Definitely early-mid 40's...exact year difficult to tell.
