Here's another testament to the 509 cam set.

A lot of bang for the buck here.

This is a very pertinent post as I have a friend with an 88" RK that wants to cam it. I suggested the 509s based on previous posts, and now I can show him a true graph of the performance that can be had.
Thanks Durwood, nice job on the tune.

Thanks, and you're welcome Hoss.

This was the main reason for posting it, backing a statement up with a visual aid is always helpful.

Hoss, be sure to have him install a heavier clutch spring.

Will do, I forgot about that part. He already has the SE pro tuner, and of course he asked if he really needed a tune, but he knew the answer. He was just kind of hoping. He is building the cost of the tune into the cam install, I'm proud of him for that.
I'll be helping him with the install, I've got the bearing tools, and I'm talking him into lifters as well. Only 20,000 miles on the motor, so we'll see.
Wish us luck!

Yes they are Mike, I just tuned Herko's 88", 509 Road King yesterday, it went 91tq/80hp.

Here's a replacement for the one you had. John is going to sell it, 2004, 23k miles, fresh cam chest, new tires, tank lines, filter, and regulator.

It's pearl white, like your previous bike. $7500.00

Good memory Daren.  I haven't had that bike in quite a while now (over 5 years).  I've actually have been looking ever since for another pearl white 5 speed RKC.   24k total on the clock, or just on the engine?  Has it been converted to run a closed loop system?  Looks like there's an O2 sensor in the rear pipe.

Yes. This bike has been converted to run closed loop, it has a 2007 ECM and currently is running a 176 calibration.

I believe Herko was the first to do this back in the day.

This bike has 23k on the clock, we just recently pulled it down and freshened the cam chest, although everything looked great, while we were there, we went ahead and replaced the tensioner pads, all bearings, installed the S&S 509's and a set of S&S Premium lifters.

Mike, when do you want to come ride it? It's at my shop. :chop:
