« on: February 10, 2018, 08:00:22 AM »
How hard to install a factory 1998 Stereo in a 1997 Flh.  In 1998 they came out with the CD player. In 1997 my bike has the AM, FM Cassette player.  Found a one from a 1998 for a good price.  Want to retain all handlebar functions.  Can i do this???  Thanks guys.

That is a good Question. I don't think I've ever seen one. Although, anything is possible. Just Money and Time. Wiring Diagrams & High-Liters would be where I'd Start.

1998 was a cassette player. IIRC The CD was introduced in 2003.  Someone has swapped that cassette player unit out for a later CD. It seems the radio unit wiring hookup is the same from 1998 up through at least the early CD years but may not retrofit below 98.  Posting this in the audio section might get you a more dependable response.
