sporty- 2007- EFI fuel filter change
« on: February 10, 2017, 08:30:17 AM »
For those who have done this -I am going to change out the fuel filter on this bike as the OEM manual calls for it, it aint broke so I really dont want to replace it, but 'Murphys law' say's "your screwed" if I dont so- I need some info please. I can get the kit online no problem, but I dont see any tank/to unit gaskets, how is it sealed? prayer? Is  blue Loktite used on these screws?

I know you have better things to do but some experience to a noob would be appreciated!

There's been several threads about this. Try searching "fuel +filter +change".  Just off the top of my head, related things are
don't use worm gear hose clamps, use new screws with sealer on the threads, use new tank gasket, carefully check condition of corrugated fuel line for rub marks that may soon cause a leak.  Spending some time on that search will pay off for you.
I think I'll just stay home today, it looks too peoplely out there.
