Granddaddy Joe...the legend.

First no bar street bike on gasoline in the 8's was Chip Ellis....
"August 15, 2004
G Squared Motorsports and rider Chip Ellis have captured a page in the history books in the AHDRA Street Pro class. Chip recorded the first run ever in the 8ís riding the G Squared S&S #46 Tribute Street Pro Bike Sunday, August 15th. He ran an 8.995 in the semi-finals and then backed up that national record by running even quicker in the finals with an 8.963. Not only was it Chipís debut at the AHDRA, but also his first race for the G2 team and first event ever on a V-Twin."

Chip was first...with G squared $$ and Unlimited resources...
There are 4 or 5 of these Outlaw Street Bikes that have that low 8 in them...
Some serious competition going on...

This only happens if you have a sanctioning body to organize the racing, advertise the event, set rules to make classes so things are comparable, and keep the records of what has been accomplished. Then you need real racers that not only build the bikes but spend their time and money to travel to the races and race.

Congratulations to the team for running the 8.25.
Thanks to the AMRA for giving them a place to do this.
Thanks to John/1 for posting it here on HTT
