Smells like raw fuel at idle
« on: December 19, 2017, 05:16:30 PM »
So I have an08 FLHX WITH S&S 106" kit and 551 cams and no matter how low I drop the VE table at idle I can still smell it, it is currently at 58 front and 72 rear. :banghead:

Share your map and some data recordings- maybe something in the other settings?

When using the reply function, hit preview instead of post.
On the left side below the reply window is a “+” Attachments and other options”.
Click on that, then chose file to attach, and select the map file you are using to adjust the VE table.

Rear VE, closed loop bias, and IAC settings.
Sorry for the multiple replies still learning all the functions. :SM:

I'm using a base map for 103 with SE 264 cams, looking at the DJ cam cruncher it seemed to be the closest fit as far as crank shaft teeth are concerned.

Thanks in advance for any input, and or criticism as I am still trying to learn this stuff as far as the computer based tuning is concerned.

Dan.

The S&S 551 closes at 19°, the SE264 at 60°! Huge difference.
Looks like you're using the old SERT as a tuning device.
Try a base map made for 103/255 combo, like 200UH001-A1 as a starter.

Another thing to remember is the ECM adds a lot of fuel at first startup, like an automatic choke. The VE tables are multiplied by the warmup table for the first few minutes after startup. Warmup table can usually be reduced to address that, independent of everything else being dialed in.

The tuning module you have could be used by a few tuners, if you were going to have the bike professionally tuned.
