Rocker wear marks
« on: December 31, 2017, 10:04:49 AM »
I noticed that my rockers were wearing in groves into the sides of the mounting blocks with only 1,800 miles. I thought I had read somewhere that there was a early production charge with the rockers. Anybody hear anything on this.

that is not bad I have seen some that are much worse than that , Check end play and shim but its not as easy as that per say . You may need to machine the rocker arm's to get a thick enough shim to work .. Too thin and they( shim) will break ...

That will happen since rockers are side loaded from pushrod angle. The pic shows that the rocker end isn't the smoothest or square enough to act as a thrust surface against the boss. It's also not made full contact with the boss yet.  What the pic shows is it's minor and the only way to completely stop it is as Steve suggested. I'd be inclined to leave it as is.

BigT, yours looks normal, don't worry about it. You will get wear marks on the support. The rockers and supports in question had worn off maybe 1/16"-1/8" off the rocker support.
I am an adult?? When did that happen, and how do I make it stop?!

Those heads went into storage and I just bolted on a set of Screamin Eagle heads for now. I wasn’t sure if they had updated the rockers since my 1/17 build date to correct that issue.

I had the same problem and it was causing a "chirping" sound.  The dealer said they redesigned the rockers (my build date 08/2016).  They replaced both rockers and the sound is gone.
