Thanks Grumpy.  Love those 69 Chevelle SS396's.  Mine was delivered in Oct 68.  FWIW, as far as I know, the 69 SS Chevelle was the first car to be delivered from the factory with both Raised White Letter tires AND Factory mags.  Other cars may have come with RWL's or Mags, but the Chevelle was the first I can remember that had both.

Thanks again Grumpy for the weekly thread and ride around with you . Man I bet you froze with that low temp of 32.   It got to 8 degree's here in North Alabama and that was cold for us   got up to 58 today  Way-Low and myself rode 210 miles today felt real good to get out.

                                                    Thanks Shobby Dobby

Thanks for the great weekly escape to wet water and warmth...it was -41F in Fairbanks this am when I drove the wife to catch a plane south. The dog and I can handle the winters, some can't. A new HD in the garage helps.

Grumpy;

Those green trees, lawn, and no snow look great!  I’m afraid it’ll be a while before I see that in my area.  I can see why you fell in love with the magazine cover – she’s a good looking gal.  I’m not sure about the bike she’s on though!  That’s a good Sunday crew that gathered.  I wish I was with the group.  It took me a while to recall what a lawnmower was.  I think I have one put away someplace.  After our sub-zero temps earlier in the week we were in the upper 30’s today.  There is too much slush (salty slush) and snow to ride any though.  Is there any significance to the colors of the tower lighting?  We used to have a “weather ball” in Minneapolis that changed color to forecast the weather.  Try to get some good sleep.

Bke31, my daughters' best friend lives in Fairbanks, I think.  She may lose her job because of health and they're talking about getting a place together.  Neither likes the others weather.

MrMike, could be, I forget things real fast.  A friend said it could be an Ani-something.  Depends on the beak.

Bart, I don't know anything about the lights.  I heard the building is being turned into a gallery of some kind.

Fairbanks is a 6 month city...mid-april to mid-october it's livable with relatively warm temps mid-summer and lots of daylight (http://climate.gi.alaska.edu/Climate/Fairbanks). The rest sucks, but until recently that and summer bugs are what's kept the a-holes away. Now we have immigrants that are willing to put up with the winters as there's no where else for the criminal element to go and do what they excel at.

Fairbanks in summer, Florida in winter would be a good compromise. Especially if there were motorcycles at each end to ride.

 Thanks for the pics Grumpy.

 Just a reminder of nice weather.

 On our trip back to the State Of Confusion, we counted 41 cars, vans, trucks in the ditch. They would go by us real fast then we would see them in the ditch later.
 Great to see 12 inches of snow in our driveway. It was mother natures way of saying welcome home.

 Keep posting because it gives us snowbound fools a glimmer of hope for warm and sunny days !

Bike31, I can't afford to buy a place in Alaska and they'd have to have temp jobs in both places or work from home.

harley1450000, welcome.

Tollbooth, been there myself a long time ago.  No up north for me in the winters, unless I can't help it.
