The source of all power: the heads
« on: December 28, 2016, 06:56:20 AM »
It is the heads that make the power and it is the cam that dictates where in the rpm range the power will be.
When i do my head work i like to make the bikes accelerate as fast as possible from say 20 mph to 100, then start all over again. When i want to pass a vehicle i want the bike to accelerate as soon as i hit the throttle, and continue to accelerate until i get out of the throttle, not like stock bikes that go whaaaa but do not move forward, just make noise.
I like to weld the intake port and reshape it to enhance the velocity which in turn allows more air into the combustion chamber, more air equals more power.  I also increase the valve size from 1.800 to 1.900 or larger when needed.  I also weld in the exhaust port to make the exhaust velocity increase which helps to promote a better intake starting flow.   There are plenty of things to talk about if you are wanting more power.  If you are looking for reliable power then you should visit my web site
