I've got a right passenger peg that wants to slowly ride down.
When backing into a parking spot I'll hit my ankle on it back peddling.
The clearance between the mount and peg there is not enough room for a shim, any  how to tighten it up?

TIA

Pull it apart, squeeze the mount a bit tighter together?

Or spread it apart enough to squeeze a wave washer in there?

But what do I know? I drive a party bus.

Do they originally have a detent ball, socket and spring like the touring boards?

I dont think so. If I remember right, Panz has a Sportster, has the fold up passenger foot pegs.

Are they not the same as the old FX passenger pegs? I thought they had detent balls and springs in them. It's been a long time since I've handled one.

I thought they had a wave washer in them, but I don't know for sure.

Ya, I just did an internet search on them and they have a washer with one squared off end to stop them from rotating.

Panz, get new washers. And crank them tight.
Have you tried just tightening them?

.I just had the same problem with rear pegs on my 07 SG this week..if your sportster has the same set up with that spring washer,  bend that spring washer a little bit until you get the right tension...this worked for me.

Thanks guys for the input but, here's the story..........refer to this pix that K sent...........

I don't have the bolt affair to tighten, I have the first two pins pictured with E-clips.
There is no spacers that I can see....no room for them.

Right on the $$ Hoss, it's an 07 1200 custom, sorry for the lack of details.
I don't want to smack the mount with a hammer to tighten it up and spreading it is not an option.
Hmmmm, maybe put bolts in it and snug that up a tad? ( just thought of that)

Ok learnative ones, any other suggestions?   I'm all ears.

Use a proper tool to squeeze them together, not a hammer! Put them in a vice, use a big pair of channel locks with some leather pieces for paint protection, something along those lines. Not a hammer.
I'd hate see what you use to adjust the mirrors...

Also, have you disassembled them to see if there is a washer in there that you can't see when assembled? Every setup I've seen like that has some type of washer.

My 2015 FXDL had the same problem, tightened the pivot bolt, done.

His does not have a pivot bolt. It has a pin and keeper.

Panzer

I'll take the peg mount apart and see if there is a wave washer, but close eye balling it I would say no.
Will take it apart this weekend.
