I have a 2006 FLHX and have trouble finding neutral, sometimes the neutral light comes on and it's still in gear, not good when you start the bike when you not on it and it kicks forward, when the bike is sitting either running or not running, I have to rock the bike back and fourth some time to find it,it's a pain when your at a light and you can't let go of the clutch, the bike shifts fine and all,I use RED LINE GEAR OIL in the trans.....Thanks

Common problem.  If you don't hit neutral coasting up to light, then while you're stopped in 1st, put slight pressure on shifter, rev up slightly.  If it don't go in with rpm's going up, it'll do it while they're coming down.  My '69 and '08 are the only ones I can hit neutral out of 2nd...

The neutral light on while in gear is another problem.  I think the switch is a 'one' wire.  In that case the switch 'grounds' the circuit to turn light on.  When the problem occurs, pull wire off switch.  If light goes out, it's something with switch and not a grounded wire.  in that case, check switch for 'sticking' or replace....
It slid 112 feet and I had no road rash

Change your Primary fluid  to Dextron#III  ATF  ,,  it will slip right into neutral then..

I have Redline HD Shockproof in the tranny, Redline MTL in the primary & a VPC.

I could reach down & slide mine into neutral with two fingers at a light if I wanted to....

Check the fluid level in tranny and primary.

Typically that is primary chain issues too tight, wont go in N easy wasn't the dyna 06 the only ones in 06 with the automatic tensioner?

If so, you can tell as you have the derby cover over the clutch and the inspection port on the side of the primary (4 bolts)

Sounds like the primary chain needs adjustment... jmo

Thanks for all input, the fluids have just been just changed, primary has SE Synthetic oil, and also has automatic chain tensor added to bike , but I did notice when changed primary oil that the chain was a bit on the tight side...why would this be if it has the ACT installed
