oil filter

     99 eg ultra i put on the hd oil cooler kit number 26082-05b , i cant get the k&n oil filter back on , the end of the filter hits the crank sensor. is the hd oil filter shorter or some other filter that will work. thanks gds

Probably the same oil cooler I put on my 05 E/G. Have no problem with the harley oil filter.

   I have been using the S&S oil filters, The can is slightly smaller and makes for a much easier removal. The filter can is very sturdy and they are American made.

On the 07 and later.. the K & N works just fine with the oil cooler ( HD )  but for some reason, the oil cooler for the 06 and earlier ( HD ) the K & N is a 1/8" too long but the stock ones works. Just make sure you have a large pair of channel locks when it's time to remove  the filter. You cannot put on the filter wrench without removing the sensor.
