OK, I am doing some clearance checking for my 124. I am using a set of 09 CVO SE heads. I am also using the stock rocker boxes which came off an 01 A engine. Is there a difference? I am looking at these and man are those springs really close to hitting. I am just curious if they are different or not. Thanks.
Thanks,

Use the tapered oil pump alignment bolts to hold the lower rocker box in place. Then check around the spring retainers with a "wire" type of spark plug gage. If .050" gage goes through without binding you're good. Otherwise grind a little bit of clearance into the lower r.b. and re-install it using the oil pump alignment screws to properly maintain the same clearance.

The old rocker boxes are tight. I use a zip tie and make sure i can easily fit that around the spring when torqued. IF not grind away as needed. The new boxes are much easier to work with bigger springs.

Use reduced diameter springs or conical.

Been a while now but I seem to remember back in 09 the 110s had clearanced lower boxes around the springs.
