Just back from the first long trip (NC to Texas, around Tx and back) aboard an '02 RK I  purchased a year ago. I don't do much night riding outside of the city in NC but did some in Texas (slowly because of the deer). I noticed that on high beam the light was way high and too far out. When I bought the bike it had been lowered 1.5 inches. I raised it up .75 inches so it's still down .75 in rear. Any suggestions for the proper adjustment or should I just take it out on a flat road, have someone sit on it and adjust it where I like it? Being able to see at night is a good thing and I never know when I might have to ride at night. Suggestions are appreciated.

Same bike here. I had my rear lowered and then my front later on so I've done it a couple times. I follow the manual but I'm going off memory here. Sit on the bike and measure from the center of the light to the ground. Mark that on a wall then back away about 25 or 30' and center the beam at the same level (sitting on the bike)

If you have the stock bulb then toss it and get a Silverstar (cheap and killer light)

What is a "Silverstar" ?  I know it is a bulb but is it one of the blue light ones or the real white light?

Does anyone have a supplier and parts # for this bulb?

Just leave the trim ring off a few days & ride around at night carrying a screwdriver.  Pull over occasionally and make an adjustment till you get it the way you want it.  Silverstar bulbs can be purchased almost anywhere.  Any auto parts store should have them.
