Hi, on the mid 2000s, what is the size of the hole on the speedometer mount ?

Backyard Mech

I had slow speed noises and it took months and even a trany tear out before I found what the issue was. Inside the clutch basket there is what is called a Spring plate dead center of the clutches and the discs. It is made up of 2 metal plates and springs that are riveted together. These rivets are made of brass. After time the brass rivets start to give The two plates separate some and cause a sawing to the inner hub (Aluminum) and the otter basket. (Steel) This spring plate is put in the basket to keep slight drag on the clutches to keep the transmission dogs together. The remedy for this noise your hearing may well be this part. Rather than replace this faulty unit it is highly recommended to get the extra clutch kit which gives you two extra plates and one extra disc. They are exactly the same thickness as the spring plate. Doing this totally took care of that menacing noise issue for me.
