3ed time this has happened since I bought this bike new in 1979. Rear exhaust guide loose in the head, screwed up the head and will have to be welded to repair-AGAIN. Had the last job done by BC Gerolomy- 15-20 years ago. Also see a small crack right at the fire ring, causing the thread insert to creep down flush with the heads face. May be fixable, but seriously looking at replacing the pair with a set of S&S. Can buy them on ebay for $1,265. It is a 98" S&S stroker, and I have had the heads off with other problems 3 times this year. getting tired of this BS. Any input on S&S super stock heads? The Harley heads were ported and dual plugged by BC Gerolomy. Thanks, Frank

1st time ive heard of that happening

Weld, size the hole, insure proper press fit, with RC 620 Loctite.
Those BC Shovel heads worked very well.

Doesn't the loctite film reduce the heat transfer ability?

At the end of the day, it was more feasible to buy a set of S&S heads than to repair the rear and modify the front head to match compression ratio, etc. Also invested in a set of roller rockers to prevent this from happening to the new heads. This was actually the 4th time this valve stem has floated in the rear head, and hopefully the last. Thanks for all the input, Frank
