I noticed that the green light on the right side of the handlebars  is lit even when the cruise is turned off:

see here's the other side:

so is this natural or is there something screwy going on?  I'm working on diagnosing a problem with intermitent shut down of one cylinder....thought maybe this could be a culprit?

I'd loosen the switch housing and master cyl clamp. Was the cruise kit installed or as delivered? Might have pinched wire.

the bike is a Road King Classic, so as delivered.  So the light isn't supposed to always be on?  I changed the bars out, so entirely possible that there's a pinched wire.

Mayor that light should only be on when the cruise is engaged.

thanks, I'll pull the covers off tomorrow to see if I can find the culprit.  I would assume that if light is still lit with covers ungrounded, that would implicate the cruise control unit?

well there was a wire caught in the master cylinder clamp.  I wrapped a piece tape around the open wire, and remounted....good news the light went out...bad news the cruise doesn't work.  I'll worry about that latter, but another piece of good news is the bike hasn't been acting up since I ungrounded that wire. need to get more miles on it to confrim that fixed my issue though.   :teeth:
