I replaced my original battery and instead of recycling it I wondered if I could use it for anything else until it is truly dead.  It will hold a charge but won't tolerate the draw that the starting system puts on it so I'm sure I could use it for something else around the shop.  Any ideas?

How about an extra battery if you have a battery powered back up sump pump?

I leave mine on the work bench as it seems I always need a 12V source for something .

I've wondered the same thing..   I go truck camping on occassion and the 'mornings
after', we cant get enough coffee going quickly, so I'm wondering if a HD 12 V
hooked to a power inverter can power a Mr Coffee ?
If so whats the mimimun size power inverter to do the job ?
thx,

excellent idea. I should have thought about the campground needs.  I could use it to power a bank of lights around the tent at night and a coffee maker in the morning.  Check this out, I found it on Google but I'm sure you could pick one up cheaper if you looked around.  Maybe a pawn shop?

600 watts ($100-$120): For household appliances, large screen TVs, 5-amp power tools, and bread machines. Most such inverters are connected directly to the 12-volt battery and have three or more grounded outlets for powering several products at the same time.

You're sure expecting a lot out of a weak battery, and powering a power inverter to make coffee, I don't think it will work.
Listen to the jingle the rumble and the roar.
