This could have continued in another thread but I thought that one was hijacked enough.

I installed a set of Softail Duals that came with my used 07 Heritage.  While I really like their tone and the stereo effect they offer, they are too loud for for me.  I have seen where V&H offers quiet baffles for these but does anyone know just how much suppression is there, percentage-wise?  I think I want ~30% drop in volume.

BTW, I suspect, but obviously don't know, that these may be the same slip ons as the long shots and maybe other systems.

I may also reach out to V&H for this info but I think their advice will come from a sales perspective.

V&H says with their quiet baffles there is a 2-3 db noise level reduction. From my experience with them it's not very noticeable, but the tone is less tinny and a little deeper.

2-3 doesn't sound like enough.  Just ordered some SuperQ baffles that I hope will fit.  They claim 9db and according to the reviews, they are much deeper in tone.

I rode for about an hour today then these got to be too much even with a 3/4 helmet.  If the SuperQ don't work out then I will be going back to stock unless I can find a trade offer between now and  riding season.

Ear plugs are the answer! Block all the wind noise too.
I am an adult?? When did that happen, and how do I make it stop?!

That's the truth!!  I sometimes ride with a bluetooth headset with earbuds.  This was before I installed Rockout sleeves and all I could hear was the (then stock) exhaust thumping.  Was even more evident while descending the mountain while my ears were in need of an adjustment.

But the earplugs will not help with the neighbors, fellow road users and LEOs who may not like that much noise.  I am a "to each his own" type when it comes to exhaust noise but for me these are just more noise than I like to be responsible for,,, even if I have options to block it out.

Either way, I'll have some pipes for sale once my "SuperQ" baffles arrive.

In case anyone is looking at this in the future, I installed the SuperQ baffles and I am not impressed with the volume reduction.  They did take some of the edgy-ness off the exhaust note but neither my ears nor my sound meter detected much reduction in actual noise.  Maybe 3-4 dB at Idle but nearly the same while riding.

But, without knocking the noise down, these must offer much more restriction.  After installing these baffles, my bike idle with a miss and would not rev at all.  I copied a map that seems appeared to be setup for a mostly stock ride just so I could check the noise levels.  With this map, it idled and ran smoothly but was sluggish compared to every prior setup.

So, my V&H Softail Duals will be hitting the classifieds soon.
