Found a sticky rod at 54K, went with an S&S crank and the SE drop on kit

No that was at 103 with most everything different.

That's a pretty big exhaust system for a smaller displacement engine.  Do you see chance of any improvement all around with an exhaust change?

I imagine it would help some <3000 but i don't think it's killing it terribly, it didn't like fewer discs. It only cranked around 190, so more compression would help too. But then they crank harder and good fuel isn't always available. Honestly I was happy with what I had before down low. My wife has back problems and I absolutely didn't want neck snapping tq in that area or it would be a 117. My goal was quiet hp and just keep on pulling harder when I'm by myself and wind it up.

585's but it was actually a dud and they came right back out, the 103 made 123/115 with 570's.

Nice run.

Just curious. What symptoms was the engine presenting that caused you to tear it down? In other words, what was the sticky rod doing that made you think there was a problem? Or was this a planned build and you found the sticky rod upon disassembly?

I was just going to bolt on the 110 kit, there were no symptoms or problems with how it was running.

Both my 98 evos had sticky rods. There was no symptoms and it only showed up when the barrels were pulled for inspection while doing a stage 3 (SE heads, cam etc) on each of them.

I have the Wegner 2-1-2 with 20 discs and a closed end cap (it flows great and is quiet too) on my 2012 RG Ultra that is a 103 with an Andrews 57H cam, RC cycles high flow ac and love it.

1.610 exhaust
CNC Chambers are 90.5 out of the machine
1.8" intake port

I've put a little over 20K on it this summer, and it's been great! No oil burning, averages 40mpg, no negative behavior of any kind, I love it.
