Black Street & Road Glide special tank console question

Are the black Street & Road Glide special tank consoles powder coated or painted? They look good, have a high gloss and don't seem to have the texture/orange peel look that some gloss black powder coated parts have.

Not sure about the factory ones, but I bought a chrome take off dash from e bay and had it powdercoated black. Turned out nice.

Thanks Dennis. I did the same and it came out dull and with an orange peel texture. I don't think the guy had a lot of experience.I have since found a local guy that does great work. Problem is he says he doesn't know if he can fix what was done as he doesn't know how it was prepped etc but is going to give it a shot. Normally wouldn't be a big deal except it is on a console for a 2006-2007 street glide. Very hard to find as the are not made anymore. the 2008 up are a dime a dozen.
