China twin 88

My Order Number was: 564249 and I had hoped to purchase a leather jacket that looked to be a pretty good deal and was on sale...the ad even offered to ship for free if over a certain amount..with the possibility of coming back to New Orleans this year for a while I decided it would be great to Order this and take delivery at my US home...

This order was placed 5/1/2009 10:12:14 PM (Pacific Time)
Duke Leather Jacket
Color - Black, Size - 40
SKU# 158127

A few days later .. I received an email which stated a problem with the card...no problem as the bank will sometimes hold a charge ..til they are sure it was my intention ...and due to the fact that I am overseas and they are cautious of fraud...no problem I sent the company a message that I would check out the problem and I had pay pal anyway so I would contact them when their offices open...only to be told when I reached them that they couldn't sell me that jacket as they no longer had my size in stock even though the order number showed that they were holding said stock til I sorted out payment....the cost of the coat was 189.00usd

QuotePlease note that your order is on hold and will not be processed until we hear from you.

Sales are based on stock on hand but if your holding and order, then the stock should be on hand...especially if the Motorcycle Superstore sez it is...

Now here the bait and switch part...when I went to the site.. they indeed had the same coat with the same model number and stocks showed my size as well.. but the Fieldsheer 2009 Model Duke Leather Jacket had increased in price to $263.99 - $303.99  so I wrote them and informed them of this oversite.. to which I was informed by return email..  that they were not going to ship that order due to the product not being in stock....which was clearly not the case as it was being advertised in the current catalog...but I could order the same coat for the increased price...

Somehow I think this order has been handled improperly and the actions of the staff did little to promote good will.  Further request from

has failed to bring further response and then today I received this email...

Thanks for the source, Rev FastEddy, ....I will check out Leatherup

Fact is that cheaper leather jackets abound in china, but lately I have grown tired of the haggling for the price which borders on insanity...and as this was my first foray into purchasing or trying to purchase from this store, I had hoped for a no hassle approach to the purchase..

I guess what really got my goat is when they asked me to share my experience....

I often order parts as well as clothes and books....the type of books I enjoy are not often offered on an expat bookstore stand...as for leather ... some of the Chinese stuff is laughfable with vents and metal logos attached for appearances which many Chinese see as being fashionable...believe it or not.. there is a Louis Vuitton   bober with lv logos and a rev tech motor.  It was built by an American, Mike Whittaker, for a Chinese furniture maker....it sits in a motorcycle shop named "American Chopper"...and what is not surprising ..... it dint run...

I have several Leather Up jackets...The prices and return policy are good...The quality is hit and miss...
Ride it...Break it...Fix it...Repeat...

I have used Leatherup & Motorcycle Superstore . leatherup jackets are made for the most part in Pakistan, the leather is quality but the jackets sizes are weird. For instance the pockets are way too small. And the arm cuffs way too big. The cuffs alow wind and bees to inflate the jacket while riding, and the pockets are , well lets just say you can't put your hand in them. Now Motorcycle superstore sells name brand stuff, I got a Fieldsheer jacket from them last year, quality stuff everything perfect, even the liner is quality.Pockets are just right, and sleeve cuffs are perfect, no wind going up to inflate jacket as you ride. The jacket even has removable body armor. So I guess you get what you pay for. Just some added info, Fox Creek Leather is supposed to be the very best.

I've never heard of these guys being inexpensive - I've also never heard a complaint about the quality or customer service (no I do not own one - always wanted to check em out though)

I have always purchased from San Diego Leather.  This is where all the local police agencies including the CHP get there leather from...  Nice stuff and cheap..  I have purchased chaps and two jackets from them and all were high end stuff....

do yourself a big favor and do not skimp on leather gear.  Get quality made in USA.  Foxcreek, Vanson, Langlitz(the nicest on the planet but $$$) etc, you can own one of these for 30 years.  I have a Vanson that will last a lifetime.  I also have a Weber leather jacket (made in Minn in the redwing factory) that is nice and not too much money.

You should try talking to somebody there. I had a problem and you cannot believe the bitch I dealt with. All I can say is that they lost a customer, I would rather pay three times as much than give them a dime. Suggest you go elsewhere.
