2006 CVO Ultra Classic.

I need help identifying the bushing/sleeve that's pressed into the transmission case. It's the one that the shifter shaft coming out of the tranny passes through, and attaches to the shifter arm that moves the rod connected to the front shifter arm.

Would it be part number 9 identified as 8977 Roller Bearing?
Should I be looking elsewhere?

Thanks

No, number 9 is the counter shaft bearing, almost an inch in diameter X an inch deep, sealed on one side.
I believe you are looking for a 34979-00, first item #37, here:
h....../ronnies/s........ E%AE%20STD%20(DD)%20GEAR%20SHIFTER%20ASSEMBLY

Requires complete disassembly of the primary & transmission, and easier to do using this .
Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?

Keep in mind, a transmission disassembly is required to put that in unless you have the Jim's 5517 tool.

The only 2006 model family the JIMS 5517 will work with is the Dyna...2007 and up for the remainder of the big twins.

Great tool, you can read about my experience with it here.

Edit: Here's the 5517 instruction sheet JIMS emailed me:

How about the Jims 1658 tool? It says for 2006 to present.

No, you have a 5 speed, so the tool that Ridgedthumper showed is what you need. Transmission needs to be slid out the right side of the case first.

Unfortunately I have a Baker 6 installed, so regardless of the tools available, it looks like I will have to have the tranny gutted anyway. Now the question is, can I get that Shifter Shaft Sleeve? Doe they make it anymore?
