clutch springs

Got a couple of clutch springs on the shelf from twin cam. 1 has a red paint mark on it. A  couple others that don't have anything on them. How do you tell if they are the stock springs. Old guy has a 98 dresser and at 73 he's having a hard time with the clutch. Told him I have the newer ramps for the tranny, but not sure about the springs. Any help would help him out. Thanks
