I'm working on a 1965 FLH and the carb was pretty gummed up.  I have another M74 on the shelf but I noticed the series number stamped is different and the throttle plate opens in the opposite direction.  Why would a push/pull throttle move the other way?

Is the stamp on the top of both carbs M74B?
Is the throttle wire and twist grip spiral stock?
There were a couple of different clamp levers on top the carbs for different applications ie: flat head , 3gal tank, 5gal tank IIRC.
Hope this helps a bit.
