Which way does the flat spot on this bushing go?  [attach=0]

The notch lines up with the tab in the block.

Are you sure?  I thought the notch aligns into a tab on the frame piece that's bolted on to the frame.  On the other side it goes into the tab that's fixed onto the frame.  It's been a couple of years since I changed my belt, so not sure if I'm remembering right.  But you can look at the frame pieces for that tab that's the same size as the notch.

The bushing rotates to fit the bump in cap. So, it does make sense.

Yep, and the trick is to keep the notch in the tab as you tighten the axel. It has a tendency to rotate.
