Marrying Power Vision to 2018 Softail ????

I watched the video on how to marry the PV and flash a tune. The video was marrying it to an older bike. I went to marry it to my 18 softail and it didn't go through the same steps. The video says it will ask you to marry it and mine did not it went straight to load tune and from there it was the same steps as the video. The tune seemed to have loaded per video. Are the newer bikes different? I just want to make sure it is married properly. Would it have went through the load tune steps if it wasn't married? How can I tell for sure? This is on a PV that I have had since 2010 and I bought a new license.
