Posting for a friend, 16 FLSTC put a Baker comp, an Baker chain adjuster in. Took the bike for a ride and he said it was vibrating an making noise, was afraid to take it far. Pulled it apart again inspected everything alignment was perfect everything looked good. Wasn't happy so we put everything back to stock, says still vibrating in 5th an 6th. Question is there any tranny problems with this year that may have been a coincidence.
Seems the comp an adjuster is not the problem, now we're looking at the tranny, looking for any insight if anyone has any. Thanks....

Have you drained the transmission and looked at the magnet?  Bob

My 17 FLSTC had a bad vibration after I replaced the rear tire. Turned out that in my haste to reassemble everything I didn't get the belt aligned properly. Vibration gone after fixing that.
No one else put you on the road you're on. It's your own asphalt.

Anyone have any idea what that large shoulder bolt in the primary cover does?

Its supposed to dampen sound through the cover.
Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?
