I have to install wheel bearings in a 2006 dyna wide glide laced rear wheel. I don't have a manual because the wheel isn't going on a wide glide. I have read that on some wheels you have to put in one of the bearings first. I can't see any difference in the counterbores. I was wondering if anybody had any information about this that could help me. Thanks P. W. T.

Typically you would install the brake side bearing first and bottom it in the bearing pocket, this insures the rotor aligns with the caliper. On a front wheel with dual rotors install the left side (or the side opposite of the slider cap) first, for the same reason.

The book says:

NOTE
Always install first bearing on primary brake disc side. If front
wheel has two brake discs, install bearing on the left side first.

Install the first bearing into the bore that is the shallowest.  Second bearing into the deeper bore.
