Cheers.

There is a 2011 touring CVO with 110 engine for sale.

Is a stock 110 engine on about the same level of longevity as your average 96/103 Twin Cam of the same years?

No, it has the same and additional issues.

PoorUB

For some time the SE 110 was a piece of crap! There was serious trouble with liners in the cylinders. do you know the bike's service history? Has the engine been rebuilt within the last 4-5 years?

Perhaps someone else can chime in what years the SE 110 had issues and when HD got it sorted out. All I know id i would avoid one unless I could find out more about the bike and what years were garbage. If I recall it was the '07 through '09 years to avoid, but I can't remember  :turd: !
I am an adult?? When did that happen, and how do I make it stop?!

Finn

It is not this one but similar. Quite nice, I think.

Should avoid any additional technical challenges but tempted nevertheless. Waiting to hear the offer.

What is the stock cam in this SE 110, an SE 255?

I think 08 may have been the last year for problems with the cylinder liners.
I have an 09 Fatbob and I have had a pretty good run with it
ECM died and that was a pita but not a result of being part of the CVO family.

Thanks, guys, for the replies.

Unfortunately it turned out that this particular bike has been heavily crashed at some point and repaired - perhaps that is the reason why the offer was fairly decent.

Well, life of a Finnish male typically consists mostly of smaller or bigger disappointments so this is just one more. And it is most likely not the last one.  :teeth:

I have two bikes with 110s, a 2008 (that had the fix done) with 78K on it and a 2010 (bought used) with low miles that now has about 65K.  Both have been reliable, outside of compensators and the occasional lifter, the throttle by wire issue with the electrical connections, just the usual stuff.  The engines have not ever let me down.

Like others indicated, back in 2008 they were having issues and I had two friends that rode a lot and were getting theirs rebuilt (by H-D) about every 3,000 miles.  Trying different fixes.  Once the MOCO finally got the right one, one of those now has about 120k on his bike.

I would not have an issue buying another used bike with a 110.
