2016 FLSTC tyre sizes?

Manual lists tyre sizes as follows

front MT90B16

rear MU85B16 or 150/80B16

Was it so that construction of the MU85B16 is stiffer than the 150/80B16?

Would one even notice the difference on the road?

If you run wide whitewalls then you use the MU85B16, if blackwall then the 150-80-16
Both fit and work fine.   I like the look of the 150-80-16 better but you will get better tread life from the MU85B16.
