Doherty breathers question

Took apart a early twin cam tonight with my nephew.  Just to show him how it came apart mostly.  It had the old Doherty breathers in it.  The ones inside he rocker covers not the ones that hanged outside.

I remember back in the day thinking these were good parts.  Better than the stock parts at thae time.  The ones I've got are super clean.  The whole motor was.  But are these breather kits better than the newer version of the breather kits you can buy now?  Jsut wondering which way it should go back together after its freshen up?
