I just did this over the weekend. Based on a few tips from guys on here I punched them through to 1/8" and then used a 3/16" to create a deep chamfer.

Yep, still recommended "while you're in there".


Some use a .109 diameter drill so it leaves a bit of the original chamfer.

It's a revised part that Harley offers. Harley #17025-03A (Need 2).
I also seen Cometic offers/offered a kit: Click to See Their 2019 catalog doesn't have the number in it.
Also note Shorter screws are needed that the Harley number has but the Cometic doesn't, if anyone went that way.

Drag Specialties carries the Cometic steel breathers, Drag P/N 0934-6002

Don't forget to shorten the bolts.
