So in the process of trying a set of drag 4.250 cyl big bore kit on a 2017 FLHX.

I'm confused on the gasket application.
Got a Cometic head set for a 4.25 bore oil cooled. The instructions state to plug the oil port on the head. The website says not to plug the port on the head.
The gaskets i got look like the ones in the instruction sheet with the oval rib with the edge.

I know the S&S kits i have done all include the block off plug. Is it needed?

Any experience here?

supposedly, Cometic was the first company to come out with a gasket that did not require you to use a plug anymore. I have a 128 kit on my sled and no plug required.

No plug required. If you do go for the plug make sure it does not
Block off the oil flow through the heads. do not bottom out the grub screw!!!

I pound a ball bearing in there on the bores over 4.25". The heads need to be milled anyway.

Well cometic isn't answering their phone today.

Founds this. When I have apart I'll verify bht it seems they aren't needed to be plugged.

The bearing trick sounds good too. Thanks Don and everyone.

no need to plug it that was before gasket change . I just throw them away its no longer needed IF the gasket has the complete circle and they have for over a year now
