No a single fire coil wont work with dual fire ignition but you can buy a dual fire coil fairly cheap.

Actually it depends. If you have points ignition, and have a single fire coil, you can. Instead of wiring the "Ignition" or +12V wire to the center terminal, you connect it to one of outside terminals. You then connect the points wire to the other outside terminal. You leave the center or Ignition terminal unused. This puts the two coils in series (6 ohms), and it should work fine.

If you have a solid state ignition, it may or may not work.

I'm confused where the single file coil comes into this situation?

He said he had a Mallory to replace his points.
To clarify the points system was a dual fire.

So 75-HD where did the single fire coil come into play? Someone give you one? You accidentally buy one?
Did you remove the points? Or did you remove a single fire electronic ignition?
If you have your Mallory instructions, see what resistance coil the Mallory calls for. Usually they are different than what a points system uses.
Verify yours with a ohm meter to see if its compatible.

My Super Coil does not Know what ignition I hook to it... or have you got one of those 2 in one type??

75-HD

My super coil only says SINGLE FIRE...and has 3 connections not 2

Well here is one "why".

Say you're out and about, maybe in the middle of Nevada on a holiday Sunday, that single fire ignition is running just fine, but then.... it craps the bed. Dead as a door nail. What to do? Oh yeah, you threw the points plate and advancer in the saddle bag "just in case"...

Connect across the two ( - ) terminals, leave the (+) one open.
