All the Coronavirus crap has me at home and online more.  Thinking of a new place to read a little and realized it was finally time made a login here.

I'm Don from a place called Webb City in SW Missouri.  Three bikes.  99 FXR2, 2000 CVO Road Glide and a 2002 CVO Road King.  They're all red.  They are also all stock (that last part is a lie).

A good friend of mine (who regularly steals my wifi) has been a vocal proponent of the benefits of hanging here a bit.  So...  I'll start reading too.  Hello everyone.

Welcome! I'm just north of ya, in Adrian.
Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?

Cool.  I did my anti-social-distancing through Adrian on an afternoon ride a couple weeks ago.

Howdy, welcome from Arkansas

You can check out the tech sections of the site for about any thing HD related. Or visit Earl's Place for the more social conversations.

Thank you very much.  Did a little reading earlier today.  Saw some of the tech and the more social side of things.  Looking forward to seeing more and participating a little.

Hey Don, I'm just a parts changer, and being a DIY'er I need all the help I can get and then some so I try and absorb what I can here.

I've seen pictures and descriptions of your handy work and you'll be a contributer for sure.

Maybe we can share the road someday.

Enjoy

I understand.  Just returned from an anti-social-distancing ride.  Couple of hours to clear the head on the Road King.  No people.  No weirdness.  No radio. No news.  Nothing but a tank of gas.  I'm as ready as I'm going to be for the rest of the day.

Hey!  Another that's not a stranger!  Have had a few private messages from some of the gang from the other site too.  I assumed there was some cross pollination but hadn't considered how much.

It's the Road Glide's turn today.  Going the 150 mile round trip to the dealer in NW Arkansas to pick up a pair of gaskets that are in stock here in town.  Just because the other dealer is farther away :chop: .

Isn't that the way of riding, a little longer way around just to ride that much more?
Welcome to the site. Beware posts from Preacher's Son, some very good, some a little..., Well, you'll see.

That reminded me of a conversation with an old girlfriend.  Like 10-12 years ago.  She was on the back seat as three bikes headed out together for a ride to dinner someplace an hour or so away.  She leaned forward to say how good it was riding together; because three bikes together would get three times the gas mileage of one by itself with us all going to the same place.

Sometimes it's better to just agree.

I hadn't figured that out yet.

Yeap, leaving in a few minutes.  Just need a pair of top rocker box gaskets.  I probably have a pair out in the garage.  So it's really just an excuse to go for a ride.

No strip joint? Then what's the point of having a strip mall?

Did you ever go so far as to add a highway bar along with your footboards?  I keep looking for one more place to put my feet after out on the bike for an hour or so.  A supposed "exact" knock off of an OEM bar I've seen pictures of installed along with foot boards arrived to me today.  Weekend task will be finding out if it actually fits (or can be made to).

Sorry.  Not me.  I've never had footboards on my FXR2.  I have the factory frame-mounted highway pegs.  Between them and the regular mid-control footpegs, I'm good.

chipthedonkey

And that's why I shouldn't work from several year old memory. I thought I remembered you doing foot boards when you were describing some of the other work you would done to yours.  Now it's going to bug me whose bike I'm actually thinking about!
